Horse Powered Reading® at Mahogany Bay Farm develops and improves children’s literacy skills through equine-assisted learning and interactive reading activities around the farm.
The camp's focus is on phonemic awareness, decoding, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension via:
-Horse Powered Reading® Sessions
-Literacy Scavenger Hunt Goat Walks
-Reading to Horses & Farm Animals
-Learning about Horses
-Arts & Crafts
Summer Camp Dates: July 22nd- 24th from 9am to Noon for K-5th graders

During Horse Powered Reading® sessions, learners interact with horses from the ground, while using toys and props to identify obstacles that get in the way of learning. Sessions focus on learning the five critical reading skills: phonemic awareness, decoding, vocabulary, fluency, and comprehension.
Summer Program Dates: (every Thursday) 7/11, 7/18, 7/25 & 8/1
Learners in K-2nd grade are dropped off at 3pm and picked up at 4pm.
This program is limited to 4 learners.

This club integrates reading a new book each week from The Horse Book Series by Ilhaam alMaskery. Learning new horse vocabulary while improving one's horsemanship is the focus on this fun, educational, and horsey club! (No horse experience necessary)
