Connecting horses & Math Through Hands-on Education!

Mahogany Bay Farm’s Horse Lover’s Math Club shows the real world connection between horses and math! It is designed for 3rd-6th graders who wish to learn more about our equine friends through hands-on educational horsemanship, equine science, and math.

Math is involved through all aspects of horsemanship and horse care- from feeding to the cost of tack to walking a jumping course to measuring for a horse blanket to determining the horse's height, etc. Each class focuses on a specific horse related topic and is aligned to the Common Core Math Standards. 

The Horse Lover’s Math Club  is taught by Owner/Director of Riding & Educational Programs at MBF, Erin Sheffer, M.Ed, who is a certified K-12 Comprehensive Business Education Teacher. This curriculum is based off of the Horse Lover’s Math Level 1 & Level 2 workbooks.
